Lets Get Back To Normal

Alright where does one start , might start in the middle and see what happens.

We had the best holiday a week ago Nic's Uncle Noel lives down in Melbourne Kensington to be precise. It is a terrace house I think that is what they call them, He has been offering it to us for a while now, his family go away on holidays over seas somewhere every year for a week or so but we always say no or don't have the time / money but this year we said yes. I know I have probly blogged about it before but it was so nice. We headed of on Friday night about three hours behind when we actually wanted to go but that didn't matter as we were not really in a hurry for once we took our time. We did get there eventually but we stopped here and there , finally got there and got the kids organized of to bed and we were far behind them.

As the new day dawned we had so much to see and do, we love Melbourne, love its arts, love it scenery just love it and I do love the street performers ( I just think they carry on too long ) but then it is part of Melbournes charm . There is so much to see, smell , taste experience the kids are and were fantastic as we strolled through the city streets ,typical tourist rubber necking lots of ooooh's and aaaaahhhh's from the kids and a few from me...

Now I did mention that we went to an exhibition of some great work from one of Nicoles fav painters Charles Blackman , I'm not the biggest art fan but I absolutely love going to galleries and shows but this one was for Nicole, He does wonderful work and the way he has taken the story of Alice in wonderland and transformed it to canvas is fantastic you could literally stand there all day staring at one piece. Nicole has told you in her blog that Alex was with her most of the time as he was so interested in how when why and wow , I had the pleasure of carting a four year old girl around a gallery look a bunny she says and now I'm bored so I really didn't get a great look at all his work but in a whole both kids did well. More exploring of the gallery and of we went to see the city as we were leaving I ran into someone from nova FM doing a promo for some hair do stuff battered me eye lids and got a couple of samples for free lucky me.

Federation square had an Indonesian festival on it was fun to watch for a while but we soon moved on and went of to southbank for a quick look we ended up buying some great glasses from a shop filled with everything I want but all we wanted for now was these glasses they were eight in a set but we only wanted two so the lady ( beautiful person ) rang the boss and said she was splitting up the set and she did thanks we love em......:) we also went on a great little tour on the yarra I was a bit resistant to the idea at first but Nicole talked me into it and I'm glad she did it was so much fun, the sun shining of the water and Nicole looked so happy and beautiful once again I feel in love with her even more that day love ya .....;)

That night George and Amber and there kids came up for the night and to spend the day with us it was really late I mean really late by the time they left their other previous engagement but it was still even later by the time we had a few drinks and a laugh or two.
I must say I don't think I have ever seen anyone get up so early and excited to get going than our guests, they were up and pumped before I had a coffee. We headed of to the botanical gardens and to the kids garden to have a play before going for a tour of the Shrine. We headed of to the flower clock and then of to the Sunday market which is in front of the arts centre and goes down under into south bank.

But before we even left Warragul I told you I started in the middle we had new tyres put on the car and while I was going down the hill I noticed the brakes didn't feel good so there is a mechanic near the tyre fitter I asked him to see if he could fix my brakes if he had time , it looked like he had time as when I went to pick up the car he had replaced the front and rear brakes as both were non existent and the back drum brakes had to be replaced so all up there is a huge big cut out of the budget bugger oh well had to be done..... :(

Back to the middle we had a great time with the Mc's and ended up going on a tram ride to the docklands to a park and let the kids have a play but it stared to rain so we thought we would catch the next tram but oops that was the last tram we came on oh well of we went for an adventure and a long walk back up southbank and stopped in at southgate for tea everyone was so tired from the long day's walk but it was one of the highlights of the day. Thanks guys for a great run around the city and for the best treasure hunt I've ever been on wow what a prize we found..... ;)

The next day we packed up the car and headed of to Werribee open range zoo we haven't been there in nearly ten years I think the kids had a great time and so did i.I must say one of the best feelings is to be able to see excitement on kids faces when they see something they have never seen before. What a long weekend that was as we headed back to Warragul I was thinking I need another holiday to get over this holiday I was stuffed.

But the week had really only just begun it was still school holidays and Alex wanted to go out again so I took him and two of his friends to the cinema to see The Ant Bully pure coincidence that I wanted to see this movie as well. That was an experience taking three seven year old boys out, not rushing back for that again.

But somehow we ended up being invited to go swimming so of to the indoor pool the next day for us and Maddy came along as well. It was so funny Alex grabbed his swimming noodle and jumped in the pool and went hang on I can swim it has been so long since I took him to the pool, but even funnier was Maddy grabbing her noodle and jumping in to go swimming and she remembered that she cant swim it was like watching the titanic going down over she went slowly, slowly then whoosh she went down. Now I know what your thinking bad dad but I had my shoes off on Standby and I was in the water getting her up within a blink of an eye but she is stubborn like her mum so I had to let her find out for herself.

But again we ended up being invited out the next day to go to tom's house for a play , it got changed to going to giggles indoor funhouse ( not so much fun for adults ) Hours later and still there someone mentioned a computer and Vic pounced on me Nathan knows how to fix PC's .
So I tried and tried to get out of fixing it but me being I said I would come around and have a look meaning I will get there one day soon , I don't know how but I ended up at her house getting the PC and taking it home and trying to fix . I wont bore you with detail on that one but lets say lots of hours later one fixed PC but when I got home we had to rush out the door to go to Nana's house for tea and then rush back out the door for Nic to go to work man I need a drink but peter came around ( Nana's boyfriend ) and we watched a movie that was good enough of a relax.

Now the week has gone pretty fast this week I was thinking a quiet weekend to relax into the return to work on Monday but no.

Lawns had to be whipper snipped and mowed and yard need tiding up a lot as we haven't been near the house for ages, four hours or so later were heading of to drouin to see my nephew's Kyle and Darren ( Darren is a ringin but still I treat him like my nephew great kid long story ) it felt like we were there for ages having a good chat to Kyle's mum Tanya but we had to go it was getting late . Got the kids of to bed and had a few drinks to try and relax a bit more but we ended up talking to A & G and we somehow got invited or invited ourselves to go to the Museum with them, so back to the city we went.

We actually were running on time for once we got to the museum pretty early so to have a wonder through then about half way through the museum we went and had a picnic in the under ground carpark, it was fantastic the kids thought it was great so did I, How boring having a picnic in the park be adventures go underground LOL. Back in the museum and talked and walked and walked and talked it was a really long trip AROUND the museum with four kids.

Off to the park for a play back on the swings again and a quick slide for me. It was really cold and blowing a gail but still lots of fun , we decided to go out for tea but not just anywhere would do we had to find a nice little place called Volcano Joes better known as Smorgy's.

My family have been to Smorgy's before in Geelong I believe their is five of them in Victoria I've been to two, three more to go! And the big fat pig award goes to me I couldn't even walk once I left there, you know the feeling tired pants undone but still s small sweet craving in the back of your mind mmm sweets aaaahhhhhhhh.

Another late home return and I was stuffed literally, I fell asleep on the floor as soon as I layed down Nicole had a shower then I did and we both were asleep pretty quickly not even a cuddle goodnight......;)

So Monday hits me with shit I've slept in rang the boss he was asleep too he came and got me. I had to take our car to the mechanic again to get the water pump fixed which when we got back from Melbourne the fuel pump died on Nic when she was running late for work the other day so it has cost us a fortune our car this week, thank god it has been a quiet day today or I think I would scream .

Lets get back to normal was the name of this post for a reason I want to get back to normal where I sit on my arse and do nothing for a while.

Wow I think that is everything that has been going on for a while, it will do anyway if you made it this far without falling asleep well done gold star for you, if you made it halfway good for you if you gave up at the first paragraph I understand .

thanks and cya.
